CASA LEÓN is a typical canary style house with Patio and wooden verandas. The 2 floor house with 50.000 sqft. of land is nestled in the mountains above the coastal town of Maspalomas de Gran Canaria.
It was built in 1965 as one of the first three buildings on Monte León, designed by the Hamburg Interior Designer and Architect Peter Preller. Many of the original furnishings remain in their original state. The house has been completely renovated in 2008 and in 2016.
CASA LEÓN is only a short distance from Roca Negra, the residence of Don Claudio, creator and founder of the world famous Palmitos Park. Directly across on a neighboring hill, is the residence of Justus Frantz, Finca de los Musicos.
Guests of CASA LEÓN are provided 1.500 sqft. of furnished rooms and 1.700 sqft of veranda and patio space, 300 sqft. of which are roofed over. On the main terrace is a 8 x 4 meter pool, directly across from the first floor apartments.
The main living room, the "Salon", provides ample opportunities to listen to music and relax with friends and family. Attached to the Salon is also a Club Room, a fireplace - room, and a small Library alcove. The Club Room contains a small Bar and round table ideal for playing cards, smoking cigars and enjoying some Port.
The Dining Room is dominated by a huge, 40 year old, round wooden table, framed by 12 Tulip Chairs. During the summer, the Dining Room, with it's imposing ceiling and cool temperature, becomes the perfect local for entertaining friends and family. The adjoining kitchen provides ample space for your culinary dreams, but stoking the flames at the outdoor grill is always an option.
5 bedrooms with 2 beds each and their own bathroom await the tired reveler. All bathrooms have floor tile heating.
Apartment # 2, the master bedroom, additionally contains a suite with fireplace and TV. It has a 2m x 2m double bed and it’s own air-condition. The Apartment has a connecting door to Apt. # 3.
Apartments # 3 and # 4 are the classic CASA LEÓN rooms, and retain their original charm with their old spanish woodworked closets and beds. These apartments also reside directly across from the pool and provide an alternative shower in the morning. These Apartments have separate beds.
Apartment # 5 has a queen size bed and comes with a small, walled off terrace and a big bathroom.
Apartment # 7 is the only room that is located on the 2nd floor and is directly connected to the big central patio. It comes with TV and air-condition and has a king size bed.
The Salon provides the following entertainment amenities: A Geneva XXL Audio System for CDs and with iPod-Dock, a Geneva Bluethooth Sound System, and a huge flat panel TV with PS4. Contained in the Library alcove you will find a 2017 iMac Computer, Printer, Scanner, Internet with WLAN and the door-speaker system. Internet WLAN is available in the whole house. Travel from the airport to CASA LEÓN takes about 30 minutes.
The nearby village, Montaña la Data, is about 2 miles away and provides a small grocery store and a drug store. Maspalomas, with all modern amenities in ample supply is about 7 miles away. Once you are in Maspalomas the beach is only a short distance further. Since CASA LEÓN is located in the mountains, it is essential to acquire a rental car.
All other pertinent information is provided upon reception of an inquiry. The price varies according to season. CASA LEÓN can only be rented in it's entirety, regardless of the number of people seeking to rent.
The cleaning of the kitchen, baths and bed linen, and the weekly cleaning of all living rooms, bedrooms, the terraces and the pool, as well as daily cleaning and breakfast, can be booked separately for €9.- per hour. The final cleaning fee is € 250.- to €350.-, depending on the number of guests, and has to be paid upon arrival to our supervisor.
Additional Services like airport pick up, rental car, cooking, grocery shopping, laundry service and other special requests can be individually arranged.
Once you have reserved your holiday at Casa Leon we will send you the Casa Leon Holiday contract.
